Meridian is a calendar application for macOS developed by Maximilian Ralser. This policy explains what data the app handles and where it goes. The short version: everything stays on your Mac, and the developer never receives your data.

No servers, no accounts with us

Meridian has no backend. The app talks directly from your Mac to the calendar services you connect (Apple iCloud, Google Calendar, Microsoft 365, or any CalDAV server). There is no Meridian account, no sign-up, and no data passes through infrastructure operated by the developer.

Data the app accesses

• Calendar data. Meridian reads your calendars and events and, when you create or edit an event, writes those changes back to the service you chose. A copy of your events is cached in a local database on your Mac so the app works offline and starts quickly.
• Account identity. When you sign in with Google or Microsoft, the app reads your email address to label the account in its settings.
• Sign-in credentials. OAuth refresh tokens, app-specific passwords, and CalDAV passwords are stored in the macOS Keychain on your Mac and are never transmitted anywhere other than to the service they belong to.
• Weather location. If you enable the optional weather feature, the place name you enter is sent to Open-Meteo to fetch a forecast. Open-Meteo's handling of that request is described in its own terms. No other location data is collected.

Google user data

Meridian uses the Google Calendar API to read and write events in the Google Calendar accounts you connect. Its use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In particular, Google user data is used only to display and edit your calendars inside the app, is never sold, never used for advertising, and never transferred to third parties or to the developer.

What we do not do

• No analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting is sent to the developer or anyone else.
• No advertising and no tracking.
• No sharing or selling of data.

Removing your data

Removing an account in Meridian's settings deletes its cached events and its credentials from the Keychain. To revoke Meridian's access to your Google account, visit myaccount.google.com/permissions. For Microsoft accounts, use account.live.com/consent/Manage. Deleting the app removes all remaining local data.
